Rather than sizzle in a park somewhere, this afternoon I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11. It was disappointing. Michael Moore made several grave contradictions, including initially stating that the reason so many lower class kids sign up for the army is because of the opportunities it come with (ie, steady income, paid education, extensive travel) rather than because they actually want to go to war, yet concluding the film by claiming that it is only these underprivileged who are willing to stand up for the country. Which begs the question, would they bother if they could afford better education/jobs that didn't mean going and shooting at people? I'm thinking likely not.

I need to think more about this.
